Fraxel re:store is the first non-ablative (that is, it does not damage or ablate the skin) fractional laser that has been approved by the FDA. Many other laser companies have also produced skin lasers in the last several years, but I use a Fraxel laser because of the length of experience the Fraxel company has in this cutting edge techonology. Fraxel treatments are a safe option and backed by extensive research.

Unlike other laser offices, I personally perform all Fraxel procedures on patients myself, and my staff has been extensively trained on your preparation for the procedures, including topical anesthesia and on care of your skin immediately following the procedure. During your initial consultation, I can identify the best treatment for you, and each treatment will be unique to each individual person. While Fraxel cannot deliver the dramatic results of a facelift, the non-ablative technology can resurface damaged skin and reverse many of the effects of aging and environmental effects on the skin. Additionally, facelifts and ablative laser treatments are much more expensive, require more downtime, and have a higher potential for scarring and other potentially dangerous side effects.

While we offer many cosmetic procedures at Maine Laser Skin Care and each has its own benefits, Fraxel is a great choice for resurfacing you skin, especially the face, neck, chest, and hands. It can help to diminish age or sun spots, reduce wrinkles and fine lines as well as reduce scarring, especially acne scars.

My experience with Fraxel has been that patients notice improvement even after just one treatment. The skin feels noticeably smoother, including over areas of scars. Skin tone is also improved, with a blending of sun damaged spots with normal skin. One patient commented that she felt that her skin “was more alive”. While more than one treatment is necessary for most patients to reverse the effects of long-term damage, each individual treatment will result in progressive improvement in appearance.

I am proud to be the first to bring this new technology in skin treatment to the central Maine area. If you have any questions about Fraxel or whether this technology would be right for you, please call Becky at (207) 873-2158 to schedule a free Fraxel consultation.
